The effervescent city of Pune has always remained at the helm of affairs, contributing a major chunk of its revenue to the economy of Maharashtra. It is a significant city well connected to the whole of India and attracting a massive overseas crowd as well. Having said that, the city is well connected via rail, road and air travel. It has all the major airlines operating flight to/from Pune to various national and international destinations. Acknowledged as the ‘Automobile City of India’ due to the heavy concentration of the automobile industry, it is home to the Automotive Research Association of India. The city also boasts of some of India’s software majors having their base in Pune like, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, etc. Also a lot of global majors such as IBM, Sasken, Cognizant, Avaya, Amdocs, have Pune as their second home.
